1/10 Mazda 787B Gr. C Kit
The memorable Japanese-made car that won Le Mans for the first time in 1991
In 1991, the Mazda 787B was the first Japanese-made car to take the overall victory in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Developed based on the results of 13 years of competing in Le Mans, the car was equipped with an R26B 4-rotor rotary engine. This engine boasted a maximum output of 700 horsepower thanks to advanced technologies such as a variable intake system, triple plug ignition system, and peripheral port injection. Of the three 787Bs that participated in the race, the No. 55 was driven by V. Weidler, J. Herbert, and B. Gachot. Starting from 19th place, the car gradually rose up the ranks, beating endurance champion Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, and the 1990 winner, the Jaguar XJR12, and covering approximately 4,923km, surpassing the previous year’s record, to achieve a stunning victory.
